What is the Competitive Dance Company?

​

Like any competitive sport, dance requires a commitment, but, more important is the love of dance.  At the competitive level, your dancer will get to travel, learn from professional and famous dancers, get corrections from outstanding professionals, and take master classes with some of the greats!  The dancers learn teamwork, perserverance, gain confidence, and make lifelong friends.  The skills and tools learned in the dance studio, prepare our children for adulthood.  For some, dance is more than just a sport, its a place to come to in hard times, happy times or even sad times.  We dance through life, in an upbeat and positive atmosphere.   Come join our team and become the best dancer you can be and have a great time doing it!

What are the Company Levels?

​

Prep Company:  This level is for dancers ages 4-7 who show great promise and knowledge of dance, but need a bit more class before they will be ready for the competition scene.  This level is required to take a mandatory 2 Jazz/Ballet/Tap combo class per week.  This will prepare them for entering the competitive team, and give them the knowledge and confidence to perform dance skills both safely and effectively.

Mini Company:  This level is for dancers ages 4-8.  These dancers will be required to take 1 Ballet, 1 Tap and 2 Jazz Technique classes per week.  

​

Junior Company:  This level is for dancers ages 5-10.  These dancers are required to take 2 Ballet, 1 Jazz, 1 Tumbling and 1 Tap class per week.  

​

Pre-Teen Company:  This level is for dancers ages 9-12.  These dancers are required to take 2 Ballet, 2 Jazz and 1 Tap class per week.  Tumbling is strongly enouraged.  They are also offered optional Pre-Pointe/Pointe, Tumbling and a 4th Ballet class.

​

Teen Company:  This level is for dancers ages 10-13.  They will be required to take 2 Ballet, 2 Jazz, 1 Tap and 1 Tumbling class per week.  (If the dancer is already enrolled in gymnastics elsewhere, the tumbling is not required.)

​

Senior/Elite Company:  This level is for dancers ages 12 & UP.  They will be required to take 3 Ballet, 3 Jazz and 1 Tap class per week.  Optional classes include:  Pointe, Tumbling, Stretch, and 4th Ballet Class.  

​

*Stretch class is not mandatory but is highly encouraged for all group dancers.  

​

**Stretch class IS MANDATORY for all competing a Solo, Duo or Trio.

​

SECONDARY COMPANY:  This level is for dancers ages 8 & UP, who want to compete, but are not prepared to commit to an extensive schedule.  These dancers will be required to attend a combination of 3 Ballet/Tap/Jazz classes per week (one of each).  They will only attend 1-2 competitions per season.
